Gold Faceted Succulent Favors: Melissa & Steve's Wedding

Today, I'm kicking off March with a little greenery in hopes that spring will soon arrive in Chicago! We woke up to a sheet of ice this morning, but these succulent wedding favors are definitely a reminder that winter is almost over! Fingers crossed... spring is near!

I created these gold faceted wedding favors for Melissa and Steve's summer wedding, and they are still one of my absolute favorite projects!! Previously, I posted a little sneak peak of spraying these plaster beauties gold... and here is the full reveal!

Melissa reached out to me to create 200+ planters to hold these mini succulents, which served as the favor for guests at their wedding.  I wanted to create something that tied into the look and feel that would be present throughout their celebration, which I was extremely excited to hear was going to be gold facets... and lots of them! Their centerpieces featured brass terrariums with white florals and lots of candles. So I created a few options for them to choose from that ranged from mini terrariums with gold trim to brass himmelis to these faceted plaster vases, which were easily sprayed gold to tied into the rest of the decor.

After exploring lots of different geometric shapes, I created ten pentagonal faceted molds from sheets of acrylic so I could pour several at a time. I was able to create over 200 of these plaster favors in just a few weeks! I then created watercolor name flags for each guest with colors that tied into their entree choice. I was so happy to hear that they tied perfectly into the rest of the decor and were a hit for guests at Melissa and Steve's wedding!
